The Zhejiang Jonway Automobile Co., Ltd. was founded in Taizhou, Zhejiang Provice, China in 2003, and uses the brand name Jonway. It is a subsidiary of the Jonway Group. In 2010, an American company ZAP purchased 51% of Jonway Auto and renamed it ZAP Jonway, supposedly making it the first Chinese automaker with an American company owning the majority of it.[1]
