Wisconsin Motors was founded in 1909 near North Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA to build engines, some of which were used in Stutz autos, and FWD Auto Co trucks. The first engines were all water-cooled, with air-cooled engines being developed in 1929.[1] Wisconsin was purchased by Teledyne and became Teledyne Wisconsin. In 2001, V&L Tool, Inc. purchased Wisconsin and Continental from Teledyne. The company is now known as Wisconsin Engines, LLC.

The company also owns the Continental engine brand.
