The Weeting Steam Engine Rally & Country Show or Weeting Steam Rally (to give it the more usual name), is held in the middle of July in Weeting, a village next to Brandon in the county of Suffolk. This is very near to the home of Burrell at Thetford, Norfolk. The Rally is organised by the Weeting Rally Committee to raise money for local good causes. The Rally has grown from a local gathering of a few friends over the many years it has been held.
History[]
In 2008, the show celebrated its 40th year. The show was started by local farmer and collector, Richard Parrot. Richard Parrot owns many traction engines, rollers and agricultural engines, including the oldest known working traction engine in the UK called Century (Burrell Number 748) made in 1877. The first show took place in 1968 and continues to present day. The show has decreased in size since 2008/9.
