The Walton Hall Museum in Linford, Essex is home to the largest Private collection of Road Rollers in the country.
The Museum[]
The museum is housed in a 17th century barn and houses a large collection of collectable bygones. The site also has a on site bakery were visitors can bake there own bread.
The Roller Collection[]
The museum houses a large collection of Motor rollers (Road Rollers).
The collection includes examples from several manufacturers, with more being add;
- Aveling Barford - 1943 DX8
- Fowler precission - 1935 8 ton
- Huber - 1942 (American roller with cat engine, ex USAAF)
- Marshall - RD810 8/10 ton roller
- Springfield Buffalo, - 1943 6 ton Ex USA forces
- Ministry of Supply Utility roller, - 1944 based on a Fordson tractor, built by Aveling Barford.
