Big Bud photo
Would like to use the BigBud 650/50 pic for a short feature I am doing on the Big Bud 650/50 in Diesel World Magazine (USA). How should I attribute the work? Also, where was it shot? Thanks.

Hello there, I'm from a completely different wiki but I'd like to ask if you know how to create Navbox templates that actually work properly ?
Demotivator (talk)
I've copied a lot of templates from other wikis and managed to sort out little problems, but most (if not all) of them have been relatively simple templates. I think I could create a very simple template and I think I understand the different coding mechanisms.<br />Since my first message to you myself and another, who is having the same problem, have managed to get the basic Navbox template going. It seems to work overall but the collapsible function doesn't work and we have no idea why; though we think it does have something to do with the CSS and JS codes.
This as my Navbox template and this is what it looks like in action. We think the problem lies here, but we're not sure.
<pre>class="nowraplinks {{#if:{}|{{#switch:{}|plain|off=|#default=collapsible {{#if:{}|{state}|autocollapse}}}}}} {{#switch:{{{border|{}}}}|subgroup|child|none=navbox-subgroup"</pre>
Demotivator (talk)
Ahhh woops, I didn't realise that (though it makes complete sense in hindsight). Initially I added the Navbox template from the Fallout Wiki (this is it) (that one looked extremely complex with lots of sub-templates to go with it). Then the one that is there now I copied from the Young Dracula Wiki (here) who in turn copied/adapted from the Adventure Time Wiki (here); in addition the example navbox I created, the code was also adapted from the Young Dracula Wiki (here). Should I add these sources to my templates ?
Me not being an admin on my wiki does complicate the situation quite a bit... but I greatly appreciate your help BulldozerD11.
Adding JS code
I'm still a bit of a coding noob, so can I assume that this: <pre>/* ######################################################################## */ /* ### SHOW/HIDE ### */ /* ### ---------------------------------------------------------------- ### */ /* ### Description: Collapsible tables using jQuery. Allows tables to ### */ /* ### be collapsed, showing only the header. ### */ /* ### Credit: User:Dantman ### */ /* ### Disclaimer: See ### */ /* ######################################################################## */
var ShowHideConfig = { autoCollapse: 1, userLang: false }; importScriptPage( 'ShowHide/code.js', 'dev' );</pre> is the JS code I need to ask my admin to add to the Mediawiki:Common.js file ?
Ahhh okay thanks for that, I'll add it when I ask the admin. I'm trying to become an admin myself, since we only have one truly active admin on our wiki (the others have either quit or gone missing, and in one case is more active on a different language version of the same wiki). I'm rambling pointlessly now...
Ahhh yes, I asked on Community Central and a guy referred me to a place where he could help personally, but I need to meet the requirements first (which requires an active admin). Oh well hahaha.

Remaking your wiki's skin
:This message also appears on the talk page of your colleague, Scoty6776.
Heya :)
What an amazing wiki! I've seen a lot of wikis about a variety of subjects, but few have this level of passion. As someone who's been around Wikia since the beginning, I can't help but be impressed. I'm glad you stuck around after the Wikia skins changed in 2010 and continued to add great content. You've turned this place into a genuine resource.
And, hey, I can totally understand that you would have preferred Monobook once Monoco went they way of the dodo. A lot of my users at w:c:tardis — I'm a bureaucrat there as well as a Wikia employee — stuck with Monobook. But what we found was that, as we worked with it more, and as Wikia improved it more over the years, it became a skin that had just a ton of possibilities. We've restructured our front page dozens of pages now, and no two designs really look the same.
Also, the functionality of the Wikia skin has fundamentally changed since 2010. Most importantly, it's now a responsive design — something that was changed as a direct result of the initial rollout in 2010. So it changes depending on whether you're looking on a phone or a tablet or a widescreen TV. It's much more visually appealing than what you might remember from 2010.
Another important point that we came to understand was that most people see the Wikia skin. You have to have an account, be signed into it, and then actively change to Monobook before you can see Monobook. The casual reader of Wikia — the person not logged on, using their computer from school or work — is always and only going to see the Wikia skin. So it's really important to make sure that your site has a good Wikia design, particularly on the front page.
Your site is getting big, impressive numbers of views. That's no doubt thanks to the great content you've already made. But I think we could get even more people interested in the site if we could remake the front page and basic color palette of your site's Wikia skin. It would be really great if we could work together to give the place a little bit of a facelift!
Please let me know what you think of this idea. If you want to go ahead, you can immediately start given me ideas as to what content is absolutely vital to your front page experience, and we can start mapping out a fresh start for your Wikia skin! — CzechOut <staff /> 23:02, June 24, 2014 (UTC)
:p.s. Since we don't know each other, I suppose I should give you a little portfolio of my work. I've done a wide variety of makeovers, but these will give you an idea of the things I've done:
:As you can see, they're pretty different from each other. I've tackled everything from serious social issues to sports to kids entertainment. Hopefully the range will spark your interest in the new potential of the Wikia skin.
::Hi again :) I haven't heard anything back from you yet so I just wanted to pop back in and check whether you've had time to think about the above offer. — CzechOut <staff /> 19:32, July 8, 2014 (UTC)
To scotty6776 Hi i was interested in the picture of the forklift you have on your page, can you tell me anything about it, what make ,manufacture date etc . thank you BettyH
Hi i must apologise I made a mistake the photo  i was looking at was on Bioman site, uploaded by scoty. (put it down to age and still learning). The picture is a forklift which says was made in Greece, I know of a similar one but its by Barford, and also has an interchangable bucket. I was trying to find any information about it if you can help, apologies again Betty(grannybmh)
Dear Sirs I have had a lot of trouble being unable to make and create a new page solely about this following manufacturer called WAKEFIELD CONSTRUCTION MACHINERY LIMITED no matter how many attempts I do. Best Regards and Happy New Year. Thank you Very Much.
Hi BulldozerD11! Thank you for assisiting me with my post earlier today. Slow internet at home, many interuptions, and new to this type of forum. Any other suggestions for me, please let me know. Paintnpencils Paintnpencils (talk) 01:28, September 9, 2017 (UTC)
:I'll just copy the gallery you posted from here to the page. Once upload to the wiki they can be used on multiple pages. But best if renamed during uploading as others may upload a different image with the same IMGnumber.jpg file name. (after working out which Morton company page it belongs on as we appear to have several Morton Tractor Co., Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, Morton Tractor Co., Fremont, Ohio, Morton, Morton-Heer, Morton Truck & Tractor Co., Harrisburg, Pennsylvania etc.
:You should be able to add it the sameway as you posted them to this page !! (But wikia offer several ways of editing which at times and/or on some platforms dont work too well. I gave up trying to edit via tables and I pads as you cannot cut and paste as I do on a windows pc/laptop).

Monobook skin gone finally?
Logging in today, it appears the monobook skin is gone! I hate the standard wikia skin. Do you see the same thing or is there another work-around?

photo required
I have my fingers crossed that this gets through to someone who can help me find a photograph. Can anyone point me in the direction of the closest photograph to the following traction engine? It was used in South Australia in the years 1912 to 1915 and has the following specifications:
Ruston & Proctor Steam Traction Engine, Class SC with 7 NHP, 37 brake horse power, 46 indicated horse power. The cylinders were 6 inches by 10 inches. The fly wheel was 2 foot 6 inches and the drive wheels were 6 foot with a width of 1 foot 8 inches.
It also had a wagon with bridle but I'm not sure what that looks like.
This engine was used in my town for a few years before be sold on to a govt department and I would like a photograph to highlight an article concerning this plant.

Blast From The Past
Somehow found myself back here...
You may or may not remember me, but I came to you for help back when I was a noob wikian just over five years ago !<br />It's thanks to people like you that I'm now an extremely experienced and pretty good wikian (if I do say so myself, as well as an admin and bureaucrat on quite a few wikis
So, even if it may not mean much to you, I've gotta say thanks for helping me out back then, it was much appreciated !<br />

Re:Road Roller in Aberdeen
Hi there
I was wondering if you had any information on the Road Roller (Diesel I beleive) which sits in the play area in Duthie Park, Aberdeen. As a member of the Friends of Duthie Park I was looking into the possibility of Refurbishing it so it can remain as a perminent feature in the park.
We would like to find out some history of the Road Roller and perhaps how it ended up in the park. Any help would be much appreciated.Special:Contributions/ 16:25, February 24, 2020 (UTC)
*Hi (This reply also posted on talk page of that posted request)
*In reply to your message on my talk page re: a Road Roller in Aberdeen i would suggest contacting the Road Roller Association who have a lot of info on makers with some historic info on owners from old records. They maintain a list of the many surviving examples, Both from the steam era and internal combustion engined ones. Steam rollers are also coverd by the National Traction Engine Trust.
*An old copy of the RRA register of Motor Rollers lists a Aveling-Barford type DX6 as being in Aberdeenshire (no detailed locations are given) but it is listed as serial number; AE811 with Reg no; STD 256.
