The Edrob/International 340 was a utility tractor built by International Harvester from 1957 to 1958 in the US.

Model history

Main article: International Harvester

The 340 Utility replaced the 330 Utility. The new model got a new chassis with centered steering and new styling shared with the 240 Utility.

The International 340 Diesel Utility was introduced at the same time as the McCormick Farmall 340 and was powered by the same 166ci 4-cylinder diesel.

Tractor Comparison, gasoline version

The 340 and 330 competed directly with the Case 310B, David Brown 25, Ford 641 and 651, Massey-Ferguson MF50, Minneapolis-Moline 335, and Oliver Super 55, and the later Case 440 and John Deere 1010. The Oliver 550, which replaced the Super 55, had more power than the International 340. In 1962 International brought out the more-powerful 504 Utility to replace the 340.

Tractor Comparison, diesel version

The 340 Utility was introduced in mid 1960 and it competed evenly on size, power, and price with the existing Case 530 and Ford 801-Series and the upcoming David Brown 880. The Massey-Ferguson MF50 and Oliver 550 were slightly smaller, less powerful, and less expensive. The Massey-Ferguson MF65, Minneapolis-Moline 445, and John Deere 2010 were larger and more powerful. In mid 1962 International brought out the more powerful 504 to replace the 340.
