=== Tractor Comparison, diesel version ===
When the International 340 was introduced in 1958 there was no diesel engine option to compete with the many other diesel utility tractors its power class. Finally, International brought out a 166 ci 4-cylinder diesel in 1960. The 340 diesel competed with the Case 530, Ford 801-Series, Minneapolis-Moline 445 Utility, and Oliver 550. The David Brown 850, Fiat 411R and similar Fiat-built Cockshutt 411R, John Deere 1010 Utility, Massey Ferguson MF35 and MF 50, and David Brown-built Oliver 500 were all slightly less powerful. The John Deere 2010RU "row-crop utility" was larger and more powerful. In 1961-62 the new David Brown 880, David Brown-built Oliver 600, and smaller Ford 2000 Super Dexta all equaled the power of the International 340 diesel.

The Edrob/International 2504 was an industrial tractor built by International Harvester from 1961 to 1968 in the US.

Model historyEdit

Main article: International Harvester

For agricultural utility model see: International 504

The International 2504 industrial tractor was a strengthened version of the International 504 utility tractor. It replaced the International 340 Industrial.

Tractor Comparison, gasoline version Edit

In the early 1960s the 46 pto hp International 2504 competed directly with the Allis-Chalmers I-60, Ford 4000 Industrial, John Deere 2010 Industrial, Minneapolis-Moline Jet Star III Industrial, and Oliver 770 Industrial. The Case 530 Utility was less powerful. The later John Deere JD400, Massey Ferguson MF3165, and White-Oliver 2-62 had over 50 hp. To compete with these more powerful models International replaced the 2504 with the 2544 in 1968.
