The Thornycroft Steam Van in the Museum

The British Commercial Vehicle Museum is located in Leyland, near Preston in Lancashire, England, and contains many Commercial vehicles dating back through to the steam era. In particular, there the first Thornycroft Steam Van (reproduction) and the first ERF built along with examples of early Thornycroft and Scammell vehicles. Special vehicles include the Popemobile built for the Pope's visit to Britain in the 1980s and a rare Tilling Stevens, petrol electric bus and related transport memorabilia.
