Steyr Motors GmbH was established in 2001 as an independent company, emerging from the break up of the Steyr-Daimler-Puch in 1990. The diesel engine division was spun off into STEYR Motorentechnik GmbH, which in 2001 became an independent company, renaming itself Steyr Motors GmbH.
Based in the Austrian city of Steyr.
