In 1947 Don Vittorio Orsi, father of the public works business in Argentina, founded the company S.A.D.E. (Sociedad Argentina de Electrificación) in Buenos Aires, which over the years would position itself as one of the leading construction companies in the region. With the help of Orsi, S.A.D.E. quickly positioned itself as a leading company in construction, civil and electromechanical works, and had a commendable growth during the governments of the most diverse nature that took turns in the country. 1958: S.A.D.E. is responsible for the installation of a network of more than 600 km of trolleybuses in Argentina, a project that is inaugurated the following year. In the 1960s, SADE was acquired by CGE (Compagnia Generale di Electtricitá, of Milan), an affiliate of the General Electric Group of the United States. S.A.D.E. is acquired in 1975 by the Pérez Companc group. In partnership with Techint, SADE participated in most of the major public works of the 70s, projected by the military government.
The S.A.D.E. INDUSTRIAL GROUP was composed of 8 companies that produced capital goods. They are: ELECTROMECANICA ARGENTINA - EMA - (Switches, cells and fittings for lines). SADE ELECTROMECANICA - SEM - (Transformers, rotating machines, oil pumps and motor graders). PeCom - NEC - (Telephone exchanges and subscriber telephones). FACTORY OF SPECIAL ALLOYS - FAE - (Stainless steel tubes and special). TRANS ELECTRIC TUBES - TTE - (Transformers). COR - ALUM - (Electrical conductors). MELLOR GOODWIN - (Boilers, ovens, containers and structures). SOLARTEC - (Solar energy).
SIAM Electromecánica purchase[]
The former SIAM Electromecánica Industrial Plant was purchased by SADE, the SADE-ELECTROMECANICA section (Ex SIAM-ELECTROMECANICA). In this Plant, belonging to the SADE-PEREZ COMPANC Group, more than 1200 employees worked and were manufactured: • Nuclear Equipments (Such as Motors and Generators of great Power, for Atomic Power Generation Plants). • Road Machines. (Such as Motor Graders) • Oil Pumping Equipment. • Electric Motors and Generators for railway use and large works. • Electric Transformers up to 500 KV. • Repair of railway wagons.
Skanska adquisition[]
1999: SADE is acquired by the Skanska AB group (Sweden) from the Pérez Companc family, one of the largest construction and development groups in the world, with activities in more than 60 countries and with 12 thousand projects currently under execution. the world.
Skanska kept most of the management and technical management of SADE, highly qualified people. So much so, that the other Latin American subsidiaries of Skanska are run from Argentina. - The truth is that the Skanska Swedish company used SADE's workforce and experience as a point of support in Argentina and the region. There was no reason to change a management and technical cadres who had so much experience in public works and in the local business environment.
