A rock box mounted on the side of an Allis-Chalmers D17
A rock box, sometimes known as a stone box, is a platform that mounts to the front or sides of a tractor suitable for loading rocks onto and which also provides front end ballast for the tractor. Some have hydraulics for unloading them easily from on the tractor. There is actually a patent on a rock box as an agricultural technology for tractors. [1]
