Pratap tractors were founded in 1981/1983 as part of Auto Tractor Ltd in Pratap Garh/Ballabhgarh, Haryana, India . They were licensed Leyland tractors, but the company only produced 2,380 tractors over 10 years of production. In 1991, it was sold to Sipani who focused on diesel engines, but did build a few tractors.
