It must be remembered that it was Bray who first developed the hydraulic pivot drive, allowing vehicles to turn in a very short space. This was designed and patented by John Pink who later became the MD of Bray at Tetbury. The hydraulic pivot drive revolutionised the digger shovel design, which up to that point had been based on the conventional tractor. It can now be seen in other vehicles such as bucket tippers.
