The Peter Gaskins collection was started in 1976, by farmer Peter Gaskins from ? after an early Field Marshall tractor on his farm was condemned (for commercial use) by the HSE inspector due to the lack of roll-over protection. The new safety regs introduced at that time required tractors to have Roll Over Protection frames fitted or Safety Cabs.
Peter decided to restore the tractor, and then started collecting other Marshall, Sons & Co. machines and the associated Fowler of Leeds crawlers, as they were owned by Marshalls at that time. The collection grew and also includes the later Marshall Tractors of Gainsborough products as well.
