Overtime Tractors was the brand name used for the Waterloo Boy tractor in the UK.

History[]

The Waterloo Boy tractor was imported into the UK by LJ Martin and sold as the Overtime Tractor.

  • Overtime Model R - 12-24 hp model
  • Overtime Model N - 12-25 hp model

Distributors[]

Harry Ferguson the founder of Ferguson was an agent for Overtime Tractors in Northern Ireland during World War I. He imported around 250 tractors in to Ireland and personally demonstrated every tractor he sold to it's new owner. He famously went on to develop his 3-point linkage draft system and the light weight Ferguson Model A using it, that was built by David Brown Ltd and marketed by Ferguson Ltd.

A few examples survive in the UK and Ireland.

  • Overtime Model R sn 3508 - built 1916
  • Overtime Model R sn 6315 - built 1917
  • Overtime Model R sn 7081 - built 1918 (This tractor has an engine with a Waterloo Boy serial plate but the chassis is from a tractor that was sold as an Overtime.)[1]
  • Overtime Model R sn 7942 - built 1918
  • Overtime Model N sn 14420 - built 1919 (This tractor was originally sold as an Overtime but has been restored in Waterloo Boy colours).[2]
  • Waterloo Boy Model N sn 14857 - built 1919 (This tractor has an engine with a Waterloo Boy serial plate but been restored as an Overtime.)[3]
