The Opel Grandland is a compact crossover SUV which was officially unveiled jointly by the German manufacturer Opel and its British twin sister brand Vauxhall at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September 2017, and went on sale for the model year of 2018.[1] Opel started taking orders for the Grandland X in June 2017, and more than 100,000 orders were made by September 2018.[2][3]

Development[]

Plans for the Grandland X were known as early as May 2012, before PSA Peugeot Citroën officially indicated in December 2012 that it would build the eventual replacement for the Opel Zafira.[4] It also turned out to be the replacement for the Opel Antara.[5]

It is based on the PSA EMP2 Platform. It has been rebadged and sold as the Vauxhall Grandland in the United Kingdom, and the related models include the second generation Peugeot 3008, the second generation Peugeot 5008, the DS 7 Crossback and the Citroën C5 Aircross.[6] Until March 2021, it was known as the Opel and Vauxhall Grandland X.[7]

It also replaces the Opel Zafira as well since August 2019, and is currently sold in Europe and South Africa.[8][9]
