NTET Authorised RalliesEdit
The NTET issues a set of guidance notes for rally organisers which if the Rally organisers adhere to they can Advertise the rally as a NTET Authorised event. The Guidance notes are a comprehensive set of 'Rules' which is recognised as forming best practice with regards to meeting Health and Safety requirements of both Insurers and the HSE who have help draft the Rules. This includes provision of marshall , First aid, fire cover, Driver traing and Insureance of exhibitors & vehicles etc.
The Trust organises special events for members such as private visits to collections and museums related to steam, and the occasional road run. Often the trust participates in events run by others such as by hosting a marque to display members engines and objects related to steam preservation and a trust display stand to recruit new members and show the work of the trust to the public. The annual display at the Great Dorset Steam Fair is the main event most years.
The trust has organised a number of road runs during its history to promote the heritage of Steam on the Road being used rather than as static museum exhibits.
