The Mercedes-Benz OF series of truck platforms are omnibus chassis with front engine, drum brakes, spring suspension, produced by Mercedes-Benz in Argentina and Brazil for the market South American. Depending on the model, they can be for urban or interurban use of short or medium distance since they are basic platforms of high floor. The abbreviation OF stands for omnibus front-mounted engine «front engine bus».

History

The Mercedes-Benz OF chassis represented the continuity of the front engine buses LO 1114 and OC 1214, the latter sharing the characteristic of being front and rear. not semifrontal like the first ones.
