The McCormick-Deering O-4 was built by International Harvester from 1940 to 1953 in Rock Island, Illinois, USA.

Model History[]

For Company history see
Main article: International Harvester

The McCormick-Deering O-4 orchard tractor was based on the W-4 standard. The tractor was built narrower to fit more easily between rows of trees. The air intake and exhaust were lowered to give a completely smooth hood. Optional headlights were mounted below the radiator. The seat and controls were mounted lower and farther to the rear. Smooth shielding covered the rear wheels and steering wheel and side panels enclosed the engine so that there was nothing exposed to catch on low hanging branches and fruit.
