Maxion tractors, backhoes and Combine harvesters were built in Canoas City, Brazil by Iochpe-Maxion s.a., a diversified industrial company that is involved in the automotive, railroad and other industries. In 1996, Iochpe-Maxion sold its agricultural divisions to AGCO de Brasil, AGCO's Brazilian subsidiary. At the time, Maxion was the Massey Ferguson licensee in Brazil, manufacturing and distributing Massey Ferguson tractors, backhoes and combines; Maxion backhoes and tractors, and IDEAL combines.[1]
