The MAN TGM is a medium-duty truck produced by MAN since 2005 (after-SOMUA JL 17, SOMUA JL 19, Saviem JM, Saviem SM Europe, MAN M90, and MAN M2000), Competitors include DAF CF, Iveco Eurocargo, Mercedes-Benz Atego, Mercedes-Benz Axor, Mercedes-Benz Antos, Nissan Atleon, Renault Premium Distribution, Renault Trucks D, Scania P-series, Volvo FL, Volvo FE, and KrAZ-5401.

Overview[]

TGM trucks belong to the middle segment in terms of tonnage (total weight 13-18 tons). Longe and delivery trucks have a total weight of 15 to 18 tons, a wheel formula of 4*2 and a wheelbase of 3525 to 6175 mm (the body length is respectively from 3.9 to 8.1 m). Disploy vehicles are equipped with C, L and DoKa cabins, and mainline vehicles are equipped with Lx cabs. Cars with a gross weight of 15 tons have 19.5 inch wheels, and heavier ones have 22.5 inches. Models designed for operation on construction sites have a total weight of 18 to 26 tons. Cars with a 4*4 wheel formula are also produced, adapted for off-road driving with a gross weight of 13 to 18 tons. The cars were equipped with 6-cylinder inline diesel engines D0836 with a volume of 6.9 liters with a capacity of 240, 280 and 326 hp, which meet the standardsEuro-3/Euro-4. With the advent of emission standardsEuro-5 and above the range of engines has slightly changed to 250, 290 and 340 hp. The motors are aggregated with a 9-speed Eaton manual transmission types FS8309 / FSO8309,ZF Ecomid 9S-1110/ 9S-1310 or 12-speed automatedZF AS Tronic Mid 12AS-1210 with MAN TipMatic® system.
