
The MAN G90 is a medium-tonnage truck produced by MAN from 1979 to 1993, Competitors include DAF F500-F1500, DAF 45/55, Ford Cargo, Iveco Zeta, Magirus-Deutz MK-series, Mercedes-Benz LN, Nissan Atleon, Renault Midliner, Volvo F4/F6/F7, and Volvo FL.
First generation[]

In 1979 MAN started cooperation with the company Volkswagen for the manufacture of middle-class trucks, which received the MAN-VW (after-Renault Type PR, Renault ADK, Renault AGC, Renault AHx, Renault Galion, and MAN SM/SG 2 / 4 / 5 / 6 / 7 / 8) brand with a cab from Volkswagen LT (Typ 28/Typ 21). The first series included five basic models with a carrying capacity of 2.7 to approximately 6.5 tons with a new cabin over MAN "D02" series engines. The chassis for them was designed and assembled on Volkswagen. Second generation[]
Presented in 1987, the second generation "G90" also included five models with a new 6-cylinder engine of the "D08" series. In a few years Volkswagen interrupted cooperation with MAN, and the product of their joint development became the basis of a new generation L2000.
