LiuGong Construction Machinery Also known as, Guangxi LiuGong Machinery Co., Ltd. is China's largest construction equipment manufacturer[1] and ranks 21st largest in the world.[2] LiuGong both manufacturers and sells its construction equipment around the world.[3] LiuGong employs over 10,000 people worldwide,[2] has 880 sales outlets, 100 dealers, 16 manufacturing facilities, seven regional parts depots and six global offices.[4]
Founded in 1958 in Liuzhou, China,[5] LiuGong has produced construction equipment for more than 50 years and is expanding all across the world.[6] The company has been named one of the top 100 brands in China, ranking 60th. LiuGong offers a full line of machines, including wheel loaders, dozers, backhoe loaders, skid steers, forklifts, graders, excavators, rollers, truck mounted cranes, pavers and cold planners.[7] Currently LiuGong manufactures the largest wheel loader built in China, the CLG899.
There are five LiuGong subsidiary companies, located in Houston, Texas in the USA, Belo Horizonte, Brazil, New South Wales Australia, New Delhi, in India and Amsterdam, The Netherlands.[8]
History[]
LiuGong manufactured China’s first modernised wheel loader in 1966 and by 1976 had already added its first articulated and oversized wheel loaders to the product line.[9] In 1993, it became China’s first publicly traded construction equipment company.[10] Then, to take advantage of western technologies, it entered into a joint venture with the German transmission manufacturer ZF in 1995, a partnership that continues today.[11] In 2000, LiuGong acquired Jiangyin Roller Company,[12] and soon after, continued to expand its product offering to include a total of 15 different product lines. These lines include a full array of construction equipment and specialized machines such as materials handling equipment and mobile cranes.[13]
The company also acquired the polish built HSW Dressta Bulldozer product lines in ?, and the German concrete equipment specialist ? in ?
Joint ventures with ZF and Metso to manufacture components for the Chinese market.
A European division was opened in 2010 based near Amsterdam in the Netherlands.
LiuGong also has extensive R&D facilities in China, and four other world-class R&D facilities in India, Poland, the United States and the United Kingdom to design for local markets.
LiuGong now (2017) has 15 product lines including wheel loaders, excavators, bulldozers, motor graders, pavers, cold planers, skid steers, backhoe loaders, rollers, forklifts, truck mounted cranes, crawler cranes, pipe layers, mining dump trucks and concrete equipment.

UK market[]
In 2013 LiuGong entered the UK market by appointing Construction Plant and Machinery Sales (S.E.) Ltd as their UK distributor.[15] They are offering excavators in the popular 15, 20 & 25 ton sectors of the market.
By 2017 they had sold machines to a number of major specialist sub UK contractors and hire firms. They range had also expanded.
