Vehicle instrument is an instrument that measures some parameters in the vehicle, often found on its dashboard or control panel.

Modern cars now combine a lot of these function into a computerised display that changes function to suit operating mode and has various functions accessed by menus like in a mobile phone. These system go under various 'trade' names depending on the manufacturer. They also integrate with the engine management system to display information such as faults and when services are due based on driving style and usage data.
