The Leyland 272 tractor was built in England by Leyland. It features a 72 hp (54 kW) Leyland engine. This was a large tractor for the time and they were once the cutting edge of technology. They were also produced with 'synchro' gear boxes in the later years, these were flat floored cabs which had the gear leavers to either side of the driver. The synchro model was also fitted with an updated safety cab that was claimed to be much quieter.
