Lely Industries are a Dutch based manufacturer of Agricultural machinery and milking machines. The company was founded in 1948 by brothers brothers Cornelis and Arij van der Lely.[1]

In 1994 Lely took over the Welger company, another manufacturer of Grassland machinery best known for balers in the UK. However, they sold Welger in 2004 through a management buyout, but repurchased it in 2008 along with Vermeer of the USA.[2]


Lely (UK)[]

The UK Distribution division Lely (UK) was founded in 1968 as Lely Import Ltd at St. Neots in Cambridgeshire. The UK company occupies a 6.2 acre site in St. Neots Cambridgshire. The company targets its self as being a specialist in forage solutions for the Dairy industry, and also is the UK distributor for TORO equipment. Toro supply commercial, Irrigation and consumer products, and turf maintenance equipment to the sports and amenity markets.
