The Friedrich Krupp AG was a German heavy industial company based in Essen and was the beginning of the 20th Century under the leadership of Gustav Hartmann Chemnitz from the Krupp family. The official spelling, which was in equities, letterhead, etc. will, Fried. Krupp AG. After acquiring a majority stake in Hoesch AG in 1992 Hoesch-Krupp was formed from the merger of Friedrich Krupp AG and Hoesch AG operations.
The company has been know as ThyssenKrupp AG since 1997.
