The Komatsu 830E is an 220-230 tonne ultra class dump truck used in open pit mining designed and built in Peoria, Illinois, USA by the Komatsu America Corporation, whose parent company is the Japanese held company Komatsu Ltd..[1] [2] The Haulpak 830E was originally built by Dresser Industries before they joined in a Joint venture with Komatsu in 1988. Dresser having earlier taken over the WABCO mining truck business, from Westinghouse in 1984.[3]
The Komatsu 830E is notable for the rated capacity of 240-255 US Tons (220-230 tonnes).[1]
While large, the 830E's capacity is just under two-thirds the capacity of its two largest competitors, the Liebherr T 282B and Caterpillar 797B.

The Diavik Diamond Mine in Canada's Northwest Territories has a fleet of eleven 830E trucks (as featured on Ice road truckers).[4]
