For the company that built them, see John Deere.

The 8000 series was part of John Deere’s, at the time, new worldwide tractor programme. It also included the 8000T series, which was John Deere’s first time in nearly 30 years that they offered wheeled and tracked versions of the same tractor model.

Power Ratings[]

The smallest of the series, the 8100 produced 179hp at the PTO and 142hp at the drawbar.

The 8200 was a mid-large tractor with 160hp at the drawbar and 202hp at the PTO.

With 180hp at the drawbar and 225hp at the PTO, the 8300 was the second most powerful tractor in the series.

The 8400 was the biggest and most powerful tractor in the series, and the biggest tractor made by John Deere until the 9000 series was introduced. It had 202hp at the drawbar with 252hp at the PTO.

Variants[]

There were two key variants of this series, the 8300T, and the 8400T. Both were similar to their wheeled counterparts, except with tracks.

The 8300T was the first to go into production, with 226hp at the PTO, and 176hp at the drawbar.

The 8400T was bigger, and had 202hp at the drawbar, with 252hp at the PTO.
