In 1992, John Deere introduced eight completely redesigned tractor series. Most had four basic models, including the 6000 series. They were designed as part of John Deere’s first truly global series, with many being exported. All of production of the series was based in Mannheim and Baden-Württemberg, Germany. Filling the 75-120hp power branch, each model sold about 15-20,000 units. All were upgraded in 1997. They filled the same power band as the 2000 series built by Zetor for John Deere, the difference being that the 6000 series models were made for the international market. The models by Zetor were never exported in large numbers. Most 6000 series models had similar features to the 7000 series.

Power Ratings[]

The 6100 had a standard PTO, and produced approximately 75hp. This was the smallest of the new models until the 200030004000, and 5000 series were introduced.

The 6200 produced 89hp engine horsepower, with 53hp at the drawbar and 66hp at the PTO.

The 6300 produced approximately 102 engine horsepower, with 75hp at the PTO and 64hp at the drawbar.

The 6400 had about 115 engine horsepower, and was the biggest tractor ever built at Mannheim until all the models were upgraded in 1996.

Variations[]

There was only one variation made by John Deere, the SE economy version.

The 6100SE economy version was made in Baden-Württemberg. It had most of the features of the normal 6100.

Also built in Baden-Württemberg, the 6200SE economy model.

Again built in Baden-Württemberg, but also made in Mannheim, the 6300SE economy model was similar to the 6300.

The 6400 also had a SE economy version, the 6400SE.
