The JCB HMEE (High Mobility Engineer Excavator ) is a military vehicle made by JCB .[1]
Design [ ]
The HMEE is an backhoe loader designed for high speed travel in order to self-deploy with military convoys. Most backhoes are limited to much lower speeds.[2] It is also capable of towing heavy loads and has good off-road mobility. It is based on technology from the JCB Fastrac tractors.[3] It is available in 2 main variants Std and armoured and has less than 1/3 of its components in commom with the JCB 4CX that it was developed from. To suit it Military application it has many features that are non standard to the civilian models & comes with a kit of special tools and accessories to allow it to complete a wide variety of tasks in it Field support role on the battle field.
