The International Tractor Trials held at Lincoln in 1919, were one of aseries of events organised by the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders and the National Farmers Union (NFU) for manufactures to demonstrate the tractors under a set of controlled tests to farmers. This was to allow better comparison of claims of power and fuel usage etc. similar to the Nebraska Tests introduced in the US, but not to such a strict formulea.
Similar trials had been run in the past for steam tractors.
