The International KS-7 replaced the International DS-40 in 1941. In mid-1947 the KS-7 became the KBS-7. The only external changes were moving of the triple-diamond badge from the front of the nose to the top of the grille plus adding the model designation to the hood sides. The KBS-7 had a basic rating of 2-3 tons, a GVW rating of 16,500 lb, and a GCW rating of 29,000 lb. The engine was the 100-hp Blue Diamond BLD-269, putting its power through a standard 5-speed transmission and 2-speed rear axle. When equipped with a single-speed rear axle the KBS-7 became the KB-7.
