In 1941 the new International K-6 and International KS-6 replaced the International D-35/DS-35. The FAB-241 overhead-valve 6-cylinder engine of the D-35 was revised slightly to become the FAC-241. Like the D-35, the K-6 had a basic rating of 1½-2 tons, but it could also be rated as low as 1-ton or as high as 3-tons. In 1942 the FAC-241 engine was replaced by the Blue Diamond BLD-250. Displacement was up from 242 to 251 ci and horsepower increased from 84 to 100. The KB-6 brought out in mid-1947 was nearly identical to the K-6, except that the triple-diamond emblem moved from the front of the hood to the top of the grille, plus the model designation was added to the chromed bars on the side of the hood. The KB-6 series continued with a 14,500 lb GVW and 100-hp Blue Diamond 250 engine. The KBS-6 was the same as the KB-6 except for its 2-speed rear axle.
