The KBR-14 was a new off-highway model with the same power train as the International KBR-12 Truck: 200-hp Continental R6586 6-cylinder gasoline engine, Fuller 5C650 transmission, and Timken U200 double-reduction rear axle. The KBR-14 took the place in the International line vacated by the A-8 in 1942. The GVW rating of the KBR-14 started out at 32,000 lb. In 1948 International advertised a maximum GVW of 41,600 lb. for ideal conditions. The basic GVW rating was increased to 35,000 lb in 1949. The KBR-14 was joined by the 2-speed rear axle equipped KBS-14 in 1948. A few KBRD-14 trucks were built with 150-hp Cummins 6-cylinder diesel engines.
