International began 1947 with unchanged K-series models. The new KB-series was announced in January and went into production in the spring. The only visible changes were the “wings” added to the sides of the grille and the triple diamond emblem integrated into the top of the grille. International was falling behind the competition in this class. Some other 1-ton models had higher GVW ratings, more-powerful engines, and larger optional tires to go with their modern post-war cabs.
