The Model F was International's first "real" truck, with the engine under a front hood and a steel frame. The F also featured shaft drive to an internal-gear rear axle, 3-speed sliding gear transmission, rear-wheel mechanical brakes, solid-rubber tires, and left-side steering. It was built in the so-called "French style", with a sloping hood and the radiator for the water-cooled engine placed in the rear of the engine compartment.
