In 1965 the D-1200 4x4 replaced the 1200 4x4 with minor styling changes, mainly adding a new grille made up of short vertical bars. The maximum GVW was unchanged at 7400 lb. The engine options were unchanged: the BG-241 6-cylinder and V-266 and V-304 V8s. 3 and 4-speed syncromesh transmissions were offered, in combination with the 2-speed transfer case and part-time 4WD system.
