Model History[]

For Company history see
Main article: International Harvester

The 7-hp International Cub Cadet 73 replaced the 72. The 73, along with the rest of the line introduced in late-1969, had a new look, with a forward-slanting grille, round headlights set in square holes in a divided headlight panel above the grille, and the "Cub Cadet name in script on a black stripes on the hood sides. The engine and transmission were unchanged. Originally the model 73 was not supposed to be produced but International Harvester has enough leftover parts from the previous model 72 that they decided to keep the "economy" line of cub cadets going. The model 73 differs from the model 72 only in the decal styling on the hood and upper grille along with the white painted dash on the model 73.
