Model History[]

Main article: International Harvester

The 10th anniversary line of Cub Cadets introduced in late-1971 looked about the same as previous models but underneath was a new, wider, frame for easier mounting of engines and other components. The hydrostatic International Cub Cadet 169, introduced in 1974, was the new top model, International's first entry in the 16-hp class. The 169 kept the black bands on the hood sides with the "Cub Cadet" script and model number but a red pinstripe distinguished the 128, 129, and 169 from other models.
