The International Cub Cadet 104 replaced the 102. The 10-hp gear-drive 104 competed with a large number of other garden tractors, including the Allis-Chalmers B-110, Ford 100, John Deere 112, Massey-Ferguson MF10, Minneapolis-Moline 110, Bolens Husky 1050, Burns 769, Bush-Hog D4-10, Gilson 723 and 769, Gravely Commercial and 424, Hunter 100B, Jacobsen 53039, Lambert 1000, Moto-Mower 6025, Panzer 1110, Simplicity Landlord 2110, Speedex S-24, Toro TE-10, USF Power Mite, and Wheel Horse Raider 10, powered by L-head single-cylinder air-cooled engines from Briggs & Stratton, Kohler, Lauson Tecumseh, and Wisconsin
