The International Cadet Spirit of 76 was built by International Harvester from 1975 to 1976 in the Louisville, Kentucky, USA factory. It features a 7 hp (5.2 kW) Briggs & Stratton engine.

Model History[]

For Company history see
Main article: International Harvester

The International Cadet 76 was a smaller lawn tractor, not part of the Cub Cadet garden tractor line. The 76 used a 7-hp vertical crankshaft Briggs & Stratton engine with a belt drive to the transmission, which was a Peerless 3-speed. The 76 was designed for mowing grass, not plowing, and so it did not have a rear hitch. In 1975-1976 a special edition of 3,504 "Spirit of 76" Cadet 76 tractors was made in red, white, and blue colors to mark the USA bicentennial.
