The International C-1 was a car-based 1/2 ton truck built by the International Harvester Company at the Springfield, Ohio plant between 1934 and 1937.
Model history[]
The C-1 was an all-new ½-ton built by International, replacing the Willys-built D-1. The attractive styling of the C-1 rivaled some of the best passenger cars of the day. The 213ci L-head six engine in the C-1 was essentially an International redesign of the Willys engine in the D-1, International having purchased the patent rights and tooling from Willys-Overland.
The C-1 came standard as a cowl & chassis unit (front sheetmetal back to the instrument panel), or with a cab, or with one of several optional bodies, including the pickup, panel, and station wagon versions. In mid-1937 the D-2, with completely new styling, replaced the C-1.
