The mid-1963 900 was International's entry in the compact pickup market. It was compact only in the sense that it had a short 107" wheelbase and a short pickup box. Also it had a compact 93-hp 4-cylinder engine borrowed from the Scout. The cab and front end, however, were full size, taken from the 1000-series. The 900 came only in 2WD form with a 3-speed transmission. Sales were low because it only cost about $100 less than the more capable 1000 and 1100 pickups.
