Model History[]

For Company history see
Main article: International Harvester

The International 383, built by KIMCO in Japan and powered by a Nissan diesel engine replaced the International 384 built by International Harvester in England.

Tractor Comparison, 2WD[]

The International 383 was the least expensive 2WD 40-hp class utility offered by a major manufacturer. The Ford 2610 had about the same power and weight but was priced about $2500 higher. All of the other small utilities developed a few more hp and cost about $2500-5000 more, except for the Romanian-built Long 460, which was based on an outdated Fiat design and cost much less.

Tractor Comparison, 4WD[]

The International 383 4WD was in something of a class by itself, with 37 pto hp. All of the contemporary small 4WD utilities sold in the USA developed 41-44 hp and cost $3000-6000 more, except for the Romanian-built Long 460DT, which was priced $1600 lower. The table below is corrupt. The price is the last column; preceded by tractor mass (lb); preceded by number of gears (labelled price). The column labelled Weight (lb) is endine displacement.
