The International 240 Utility was built by International Harvester from 1958 to 1962 in Chicago, Illinois, USA.

Model History Edit

For Company history see
Main article: International Harvester

The International 240 was a low-profile companion to the McCormick Farmall 240, with the same engine, transmission, etc. It was a new size for International because there was no similar International 230.

Tractor Comparison Edit

The 240 competed directly with the Case 210B and John Deere 430 but was slightly less powerful than the David Brown 25, Ferguson TO35, Ford 641 and 651, Massey-Ferguson MF50, and Minneapolis-Moline 335. The John Deere 1010 and Oliver 550 had even more power. During 1962 the more-powerful International 404 Utility replaced the 240.
