Model History[]
- For Company history see
- Main article: International Harvester Co article
The IHC Type B was very similar to the IHC Type A, differing only in the type of rear axle and size of drive wheels. Like the Type A, it was powered by single-cylinder engines from the Famous line. Only 20-hp Type B tractors were built. The engine displacement was 954 ci in 1908. From 1909-13 the Type B was built with a smaller bore version of the Famous engine, reducing displacement to 902ci. The Type B 20-HP was built in a 2-speed version from 1910-13, although the 1-speed model continued through 1912. Regular production of the Type B ended in 1913, but 5 additional copies were assembled in 1917. A total of 684 Type B tractors were built[1] .
