Hummel of Baden in Germany was founded in 1862 as a Agricultural machinery manufacturer. By the 1950s they were building motor cultivators. The first model useda single cylinder sachs engine of 640cc.[1] they then started building more powerfull models and soon added small 4-wheeled walking tractors of an articulated design. These small tractors being designed for small market gardena and orchards. Other models were added of 4-wheel drive layout and std 2 wheel drive tractors.
Later designs used Deutz and MWM AG egines. It is belived that Hummel disappeared in the 1970 as the market changed to bigger tractors built by the international brands as small farms disappeared under farm modernisation.
