HM Plant are a Construction plant dealer based in Tyneside, who are the official importers for Hitachi in the UK. The company has been a subsidary of Hitachi Construction Machinery (Europe) since April 2007.

History[]
HM Plant was founded in 1979 with a aim to become a leading dealership for Excavators in the UK. The company started as a sub-dealer distributing Hitachi's range of Japanese built hydraulic excavators in compertion to the UK brands of JCB and Hymac. The company then in 1980 being appointed Hitachi’s official UK importer.
HM plant was originally based in Somerset, but in 2004 HM Plant relocated to a purpose-built facility at Hebburn, South Tyneside on a seven acre site with better access via the North Sea ports from Hitachies factories in Amsterdam and Japan.
Since April 2007 HM plant has been a wholly owned subsidiary of Hitachi Construction Machinery Europe. The company has eleven depots serving theUK and several sub-dealers for the Irish market.

The company has a classic Hitachi UHO63 from the early 1980s that has been restored to as new condition. It has been exhibited at the Welland Steam and Country Rally in 2011 and 2012.
