Garrett no. 34461 is an Steam tractor that was built in 1924 by Garretts in Suffolk. The engine currently carries the name of Victoria and the registration PM 4795.

Engine History[]

Built in 1924 and Supplied new in Royal Show finish. The engine was first sold in 1927 to W&F Bains of Blackburn, Suffolk. original sale price was £805 (1927).

In 1944 it was sold to Chris Lambert of Horsmondon, Suffolk. The engine was then converted to a Roller. When Lamberts was sold up in 1951 the engine was purchased by Don Eastwood for £155, as a roller.

In 1957 Don converted the engine back to a tractor. The Eastwood family rallied the engine till 1994 when it lasted steamded. It was then sold after 45 years in 2004 to the current owner.

Ian Houlgrave has since carried out a major rebuild, with new firebox, boiler barrel, tender, differential gears and a new canopy, finished off with a repaint in the original show livery.

The engine has been rallied regularly since.
